This is the wiring behind the
entertainment center. I absolutely hate this piece of
furniture. It's a cheap Ikea unit that I got for my first apartment.
First off, it's way too narrow. You can see my left, center, and
right speakers up there, and they're practically on top of each
other. It's made out of cheap pressboard, and has scratches on it
from being moved. I haven't been able to find a new one that will
work for me, so I'm in the process of designing a replacement.
However, the cable management did come out pretty nice. John and
I just screwed hook and loop strips into the pressboard and wrapped
them around the bundles of wire. |

This is a close up of one of the two
break out boxes that are behind the entertainment center. The one on
the left is for IR emitters, and the one on the right is for the
SmartLinc detector probes.
The box and the 1/8" stereo jacks are from RadioShack. I
just mounted them in the box, wired them up with a piece of cat5 and
crimped a connector on the end. The box plugs into a jack behind the
entertainment center, and from there to the input ports on HV. |
